In today’s increasingly interconnected and globalized world, understanding customs and values of different countries is of great benefits. People nowadays can learn other cultures and traditions through a range of exciting ways and there are some reasons why some people are interested in learning other traditions and cultures whereas others are not.

It can be said that there have been numerous effective ways to discover different countries all over the world. Thanks to the proliferation of the Internet and advances in technology, people can find a large amount of information about cultures that they want to know more by their own digital gadgets. Reading electronic books, watching foreign films or subscribing to YouTube channels would offer viewers richer experiences to discover new places. Also, following people, organizations or forming friendships with foreigners on social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, What’s app is a great way to directly learn from other cultures. However, it is apparent that the best way to deeply understand other cultures and societies is to actually live among them. This can be done by taking part in international exchange programs for students, enrolling in abroad volunteer campaigns for young people or planning trips overseas. These journeys would bring people excitement which helps them have better interpersonal dialogue and communication with local inhabitants, especially when they have foreign language proficiency.

As regards reasons why some people are interested in learning other traditional and cultural values while others are not, some factors can be identified. Firstly, learning about other cultures would make people more motivated to visit and understand the similarities and differences between their own culture and another. This would encourage them to build acceptance of cultural diversity with all of races, religions, languages, fashion, traditional values and etiquette, which is of importance in the globalized world. Secondly, when people have a chance to interact directly with foreigners, not only can they broaden their knowledge, but also strengthen their communication and foreign learning skills, which will be beneficial to their lives. By contrast, some people do not appreciate the culture of other nations probably since they discriminate on the grounds of race, religion or colour bar, which discourage them from keeping an open mind on different cultural and social background.

In conclusion, people nowadays have more opportunities to experience and understand other cultures by various ways of learning and there are some reasons which can be explained why some people are enthusiastic about different cultures while others are not.
