THE LINE GRAPH SHOWS THE COMPARISON OF SOME DOMINANT CHANGES BETWEEN THE CHINESE AND US BIRTH RATES FROM 1920 TO 2000
OVERALL, BOTH OF NATIONS SAW CONSIDERABLE FLUCTUATIONS IN FERTILITY, WITH LOWS DURING THE 1940S AND HIGHS DURING THE 1950S
FIRSTLY, THE BIRTH RATES OF CHINA WAS WITNESSED AN UPWARD TREND NEARLY 5 PERCENT AFTER EXPERIENCED A SLIGHT DECLINE OVER THE PERIOD. NEXT, THEY PLUMMETED DRAMATICALLY WITH 5 PERCENT IN 1940 WHICH STABILIZED IN NEXT 5 YEARS. WE CAN SEE CLEARLY THAT THERE WAS A REMARKABLE RISE THAT REACHED A RECORD HIGH TO 20 PERCENT IN 1950. FINALLY, FROM 1955 TO 2000 THEY GO DOWN STABLY
MEANWHILE, THE BIRTHS RATE OF US WENT UP SLIGHTLY IN 1935 WITH APPROXIMATELY 13 PERCENT. HOWEVER, AFTER 10 YEARS WE SAW A DROP TO THE LOWEST RATES WITH UNDER 5 PERCENT BUT THEY REACH A PEAK OF 15 PERCENT IN 1950. IN THE LAST PERIOD, THEY STILL EXPERIENCED A RAPID FALL
