the pie chart show the electricity generated in Germany and france from all sources and renewables in the year 2009 summarize the information by selecting and reporting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant

The four provided pie charts unfold a statistical comparison in how electricity was generated in Germany and France during the year of 2009, with its unit measured in billion kWh. Overall, it is obvious that both countries depended on either conventional thermal energy or nuclear energy to generate electricity.
In detail, Germany, whose total output was 560 billion kWh, depended heavily on conventional thermal energy, which accounted for 59.6% of all electricity generated. This figure was almost six times the amount of the conventional thermal energy produced in France. In contrast to Germany, the total output was lower in France, generating 510 billion kWh. However, the bulk of electricity in France came from nuclear power, which constituted over three-quarters of all electricity while only 23% of nuclear energy was produced in Germany.
Compared with conventional thermal and nuclear energy, renewables made up a small proportion for both countries, ranging from 13.7% to 17.4% of the total electricity generation. To begin with, most of the renewables in Germany consisted of biomass and wind, accounting for 76.2% combined. The total percentage of wind and biomass was far higher than that of hydroelectricity and solar energy with their figures standing at 17.7% and 6.1% respectively. However, the way in which people produced renewable energy was diametrically opposed in France, where hydroelectricity made up over four-fifths of all renewables. On the other hand, biomass, wind and solar energy only constituted the remaining 20%. Nevertheless, neither countries used geothermal energy.
