The bar chart shows different methods of waste disposal in four cities; Toronto, Madrid, Kuala Lumpur and Amman.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The given bar chart presents an overview about different measures of waste management (landfill, incineration, recycling and compositing) in four regions, including Toronto, Madrid, Kuala Lumpur and Amman.
Overall, it is significant that landfill and incineration were the most common way of waste disposal in four cities; the highest figure belonged to landfill in Toronto.
As can be clearly observed from the chart, Toronto citizens disposed more than 70% of their waste by landfilling, nearly doubling the proportion of this method in Amman. In contrast, this measure was outstriped by incineration in Madrid and Kuala Lumpur and only occupied for 29% and 17% respectively. In terms of incineration, Kuala Lumpur was ranked first at over half of the waste, followed by Madrid at sharply 40%.
Another note-worthing point was a similarity in the amount of recycling and compositing waste in Madrid and Kuala Lumpur, particularly at 23% and 8% respectively. Moreover, while there was a gap of 9% between the percentage of recycling and compositing in Amman, these methods illustrated a same share in
Toronto.
