The line chart depicts the proportion of power utilised in the USA in the period of 50 years starting from 1980s to 2030 in six main categories: petrol and oil, coal, natural gas, nuclear, solar/wind, hydropower.
At the first glance, it is obvious that there is a significant disparity between to top and the bottom position of the statics. Apparently, the use of petrol and oil takes over the graph whereas hydropower has always stood at the lowest rank of the list.
In more details, it is clear from the diagram that the top three most popular consumed energy display a fluctuation throughout the period. They all show the same trend of slipping, recovering slightly and hitting the peak at the end of a time frame. In terms of petrol and oil, it surely took over the chart in these 50 years with around 35 quadrillion units in the early stage and thrive at about 47 quadrillion units at the end, followed by coal and natural gas.
The opposite can be observed when it comes to the 3 smallest domains. further more, only a tiny change can be seen. Probing further, the ratios of these groups: atomic energy, Solar/wind, hydropower only account for 6, 5 and 4 quadrillion units at the last stage of the graph.
