The maps show how the town of Harborne changed from 1936 to 2007.
The diagram delineates the transformation of Harborne from a nearly uninhabited place into a thriving town in the period from 1936 to 2007.
It can be clearly seen that the town was underdeveloped in 1936 with few structures. In the center, It can be divided into two parallel parts, one included a post office, a sweet shop, and some butchers; the other side had a flower shop, a bank, and a library. The North was occupied by natural features, three trees were in the North West and a river was in North East. In the South was Government offices, a piece of land for farming and a winding path for cycling.
By 2007, considerable alterations had occurred in the town as a flourishing city surrounding the River. Government Offices and the Farm Land had converted into a Museum and a Golf Course, respectively. Two trees in the North West had been knocked down, and the cycle path had rebuilt to a curved road.
In the central area, the sweet shop and place for butchers were emerged to form a supermarket while the flower shop was turned into a travel agent. The final feature deserves a mention is that a commercial center was built between two blocks.
