The pie charts illustrate the proportions of three types of nutrients contained in common meals of American, which can be unhealthy if eaten excessively.
Overall, people in USA consume the largest percentages of Sodium and Saturated fat in Dinner, while Snacks include the largest proportion of Added Sugar. On the other hand, Breakfast is the meal that people consume the least amount of these three types of nutrients.
The greatest percentages of Sodium and Saturated fat were to be found in Dinner, which was followed by Lunch, in which each of these nutrients accounted for approximately 30%. Only 14% of Sodium consumed in Snacks and Breakfast, compared to 16% and 21% of Saturated in the same meals.
Snacks was the meal that includes the highest consumption of Added Sugar, with 42%, which was nearly double that of Dinner. Breakfast and Lunch had similar percentages of Added Sugar, ranging from 16% to 19%.
