The linear representation gives us information about the transportation of goods in the UK(1974-2002) by four mains of transport.Transporation via roadways has been the greatest above-board the rest of the facilities.
The commutation of goods through roadways started off at 65 million tonnes during 1974,gradually achieving a peak at 98 million at 2002.
While waterways and railways initiated at the same level(40 million),water mode gradually increased its way up by remaining stable and reached the zenith of nearly 60 million during 2002.Whereas,railways fluctuated between 20-40 million throughout the time period.
It is easily seen that, very few resources are sent through pipeline.Eventhough, the shift of goods has remained less, the mode of commute has surged up to value of nearly 20 million especially between 1194 to 2002.
