The provided chart illustrates the status of students' essay in a UK tertiary school in three periods 1990, 2000 and 2010.
Overall, students who handed in and rewrote their dissertation on time have observed a significant increase while the opposite was true for those that failed to complete. It is also of note that the completion rate has always been outstrip the failed rate, with the tremendous number of students submitted before the deadline.
As c be seen from the chart, in 1990, there is 150 postgraduate had finished their projects, which rose up to more than 200 people prior to being doubled in the next 20 years. On the contrary, the number of students unsuccessfully passed the writing has witnessed a decline. To be in details, the highest number was around 50 in 1990 and when it comes to 21st century, that figure had drop considerably to approximately 10 people.
By comparison, the ratio of undergraduate that completed after deadline was about 20, 30, 50 respectively in the three given timescales. With regard to the rewritten figure, the lowest rate of student imposed in the first year examined with just under 10 students, followed by an upward trend in 2000 by 40 before going down by around 7 people in the last surveyed year.
