Overall, it can be seen that the employability rate in England and Wales significantly decreased within 50 years. It is also clear that there were more factories in 1881 than in 1851.
In detail, the initial population of workers in both cities in the United Kingdom stood at 477, 100 of which, 287,000 were men and 190,000 were females. The total figure continuously dropped to 61,000 with 31,000 male workers and 30,000 female workers. By comparison, a total difference of 411,100 workers was observed within a span of 50 years.
Concurrently, the number of factories built made a steady rise within 30 years starting from 1851 with 225 buildings until 1881 with a total number 721. However, this data dropped by a hundred and twenty-one infrastructures over the next twenty years which made the final difference of 375 from that which was initially recorded in the first year of the study period.
