Overall, the greatest percentage of population aged 65 and above is can be seen in Germany in all three years. This figure of UK showed the smallest rise from 1988 to 2000 while the share of older people of Canada and Germany increased both by around 5 per cent.
Between 1988 and 2000, there was an increase of approximately 5 per cent in the percentage of population aged 65 and above in Canada and Germany, while Britians aged 65 and above contributed to population only 14.23 and 14.89 per cent in 1988 and 2000 respectively, rising by less than 1 per cent. In those three years, the percentage of older people in Germany remains the greatest, always above 20 per cent, among three countries.
Regarding the forecast, in Canada, Germany and UK the share of population aged 65 and above will grow by around 5 per cent from 2000 to 2030, reaching 26.35, 30.42 and 20.35 per cent respectively.
