tpo 26 Integrated task
The article states that the zebra mussels is a unsstoppable and uncontrolable species when introduces in a new habitate, as it spread out from its original place, easteren europe, to all north america. it provide three reasons for this claime. However the professor does not believe so and he sxplaine how it can be controeld from spreading out and how can be decrease its negative imppacts. By these explanation he refutes each resons of the article.
first, the article claimes that ships are the first and formost vehicles that bring zebra mussels to the north america ant actually there is no way to control this invasion. On the other hand the lecturer belives that if the regualation make the ship to empty their water before the shore of ocean and take the ocean water instead, it can stop the zabra mussels invasion.
Second, The article states that these small fish will flurish and thrive so easily and because of no predator existance it dominates the new habitate without any competition. The proofessor refutes this by explainnig that there is some ways to control its population, for instanse, some kinds of bird which eat fish can act as a good popuplation controler in this situation.
Third, the article states other negative effect of this small fish when it became dominant. it claims that zebra can eat all plankton which is food resource for all fish species and it deacrese other fish poppulation. In contrast, the professor accepts that zebra eats plankton and it may has a nagative effect on other small fish species, he avers other positive effect of zebra fish in the food chain, where it can be a good food for bigger fish.
