16/10/2017 You cannot pick your friend up at the airport. Write a letter to him/her. In your letter, you should
explain the reasons.
You should provide him/her with alternative ways to go to the hotel.
You should inform him/her of your plan.
Dear jeena,
I am really sorry jeena. I am writing this letter to inform you that I will not be able to meet you at the airport tomorrow, so you need to come to my house on your own. While I was checking the route to the airport yesterday night, I got a call from a hospital that my cousin got a car accident. As her family are on holidays, I am the only one who can take care of her at this point. She has one more check tomorrow, so I need to stay with her by then.
Anyway, taking a taxi is not recommended because it will take so long time to get my house due to traffic jam caused by a construction in downtown. The best option is to use public transit from the airport. When you get out of the south entrance, you will see a bus stop right next to a cafe. Not only for 101 bus, but you can also take 105 one. After that you need to get off from Robson and Burrard street. it is like 10 stops away, so it will take more than 20 minutes. Once you get there, you will find Serraton hotel easily. I will be able to arrive there by 5PM. We can meet at the restaurant on the main floor and catch up the stories and check tomorrow's plan together.
Regards,
