The two pie charts compare and contrast data on the differences in the percentage of the Australian higher education qualifications of two age categories 25 to 34 and 55 to 69.
An overview at the diagrams show that the Australian postgraduate students aged from 25 to 34 and 55 to 69 had less interest in veterinary, agriculture, architecture and law.
More specifically, the younger age group turned more attention to the social sciences and arts fields which were accounted for the highest percentage with nearly one-fifth of 357,500 Australians. In the other group, most of them also achieving a degree in the same area with 20.42% of the total of 104,800 students. The same situation happened in the education criterion for the younger and older group with 14.76% and 13.17% respectively. The tendency of studying in pure science, maths, information technology was drastically reduced by age. The percentage of elderly postgraduate students in these fields was fell to 10.11% which was half than that of their younger counterparts. A further point to note is that medicine was only accounted for 7.40% of the 25 to 34 group compared to roughly 12% of the other group.
