The main idea of both the passage and the talk is about the fossil of Tyrannosaurus rex (T.rex). In the text, the author claims that researchers have found a lot of information about the animals tissues. The lecturer challenges all the evidence mentioned in the reading and believes that none of these arguments is correct.
Firstly, the author states that small branching channels inside the leg bone are associated with blood vessels. Conversely, the lecturer brings up the idea that soft substances inside the bone's of T.rex is not like a blood vessel and it might be a trace of moist residue of bacteria colony.
Moreover, the author asserts that microscopic examination of the various parts of the inner bone revealed the presence of spheres that could be the remains of red blood cells. The lecturer, on the contrary, points out that spheres could be have a different origin because these spheres had not been found in other primitive animals. Besides, the color of the spheres might could be cause of reddish materials.
Eventually, the reading passage holds the opinion that the dinosaur leg bone have collagen which is the main component of living bone tissue. The lecturer, on the other hand, says that collagen never have been found older than 100 million years. Therefore, other sources could be responsible for the revealed collagen. She Further explains that collagen could be remained on these bones after handling by human since humans' skin have collagen.
