Some people think that children should learn how to compete, but others think that children should be taught to cooperate to become more useful adults.
Discuss both views and give your own opinions.
Children’s education has become a more debatable issue as people have become more aware of the importance of children’s development. While some people have different viewpoints about whether children should be taught to compete or collaborate, I firmly believe that they should learn both cooperation and competition with others.
On the one hand, children should learn how to be competitive in life to achieve success when they play a solo part.To be more specific, they need to compete to seize better opportunities. For instance, when applying to a scholarship or doing an entrance exam, they need to fight for benefits on their own. Additionally, competitiveness also helps foster children’s personal development as they need to work diligently.
On the other hand, it is also crucial to teach children to be cooperative as they are a part of society. That is, in numerous fields of life, collaborative skills are needed to succeed. For example, when children do group assignments at school, they should be a good team player, otherwise, in all likelihood, they will not accomplish their work successfully.
I argue that there are several situations in which both competition and collaboration are required simultaneously. To illustrate, when they participate in team sports, they learn to cooperate with their team members and at the same time, they need to compete with the opposite.
To conclude, it is clear that both competition and cooperation are virtues children should have in life. Besides, it is vital to teach them when they should be competitive and collaborative.
