The diagrams below show the water supply system in Australia at present and in future. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features.
The map compares the water supply system in Australia between the present and the future.
Overall, while the waste water is directly discharged into the river from the water treatment plant in the present, it will be treated in the water treatment plant for recycling in the future. Besides, in the present system, the storm water flows from the city into the river compared with its process in the water treatment factory for use in the future plan.
In the present system, the water is supplied by the dam and storage to users in the city, and then the cleaning process of the waste water is taken place in the water treatment plant before being discharged into the river. In addition, the storm water is led directly to the river.
In the future plan, the dam and storage will still be considered as water provider for similar users, including households, factories and shops in the city. However, while the waste water is removed after treating in the water treatment plant in the present, it will be recycled in the future. Besides, the city will use the storm water as water following the treatment without discharging into the river like the present.
