A European silver coin which is back to the eleventh century found in maine state of United state. The passage explains reasons given by some archiologists to justify that it is a fake coin not a genuine one. In contrast, the lecturer states that there is a possibility that it is a coin brought to the Maine by the Norse, European explorer, so she provides some reasons to make it clear.
First of all, some archiologist believe that the coin found in the North America is fake. others thinks it isn't a fake con, though based on the speaker. The author mentions that the place where the coin found is far from the other places where the Norse were, therefore it is not feasable that the Norse could travel there. As a comparison, it is mentioned in the lecture that they could travel there. The lecturer points out that many other objects found there which represents that the norse could reach the site where the coin found.
Second, the speaker opposes the auther's second reason by saying this fact that if it haven;t been found other coin, it dosen't mean that they didn't bring any coin there because there is a possibility that they have brought back their coins.
Finally, the speaker ignores the last reason given by author. she states that these kind of coin would be appealing for americans because of their beauty, so they could count on these kind of coins as a jwelery.
