The chart shows the result of a report from 2008 about the energy consumption in the USA since 1980 and includes projections until 2030.
Overall, since 1980 the consumption of all sources, except hydropower, has increased, and the projections show that petrol and Oil and Coal will continue to increase, while the rest will remain constantly the same.
From the start, petrol and oil was the most used sources of energy started at 35 quadrillion units and currently resting at around 45 quadrillion units. Natural gas start at 20 quadrillion units and Coal at 16 quadrillion units and now both reached at around 25 quadrillion units. Nuclear, Solar and wind and hydropower started at around 4 quadrillion units and the first two sources reached now at 7 quadrillion units and 5 quadrillion units respectively, while hydropower decreased and reached at around 2 quadrillion units.
Looking to the future, petrol and oil and coal have been projected to increase till 2030. Nuclear is projected to increase almost 6 quadrillion units and Solar and wind is predicted to almost 5 quadrillion units. Natural gas and hydropower has projected to be the same until 2030.
