The maps below show the centre of a small town called Islip as it is now, and plans for its development.
The maps illustrate the current stage of a small town known as Islip and its proposed changes.
Overall, it is clear that the town centre will have a roundabout around it in the future. Furthermore, additional housing facilities and a bus station are soon planned to be constructed in the centre.
As the first map shows, the main road connects the shops as well as the other road only extends to a school and a park. However, this road will be changed into a ring road which will surround the town centre and connect the places near it. In addition, the park located in the north-east will be made smaller for the development of this road.
Regarding other planned developments, shops to the north of the main road are planned to be demolished in order to establish a bus station, shopping centre and a car parking area. Moreover, new accommodation services will be made available near the carriageway to the east and next to the existing park. Lastly, the main road will be made accessible for pedestrians only.
