The pie charts illustrate two things. First one shows how energy is being consumed by an average Australian home. Second one depicts the amount of greenhouse gas emitted as a direct result of that energy consumption.
Overall, a big chunk of power is being used up for heating homes and water for domestic use. However, greenhouse gas emitted by all the work mentioned in graph shows variation, because water heating and appliances take the lead in that category.
Firstly, the energy usage by an average home for heating is the most, at 42 percent. It is followed by water heating at 30 percent, while house hold appliances take the third place. The least amount of energy used was on cooling surprisingly, at only 2 percent.
Secondly, the hazardous gas emissions was topped by water heating, at 32 percent. Emitting gasses closely behind that was everyday home gadgets at 28 percent, whereas heating the homes came at third place. The least amount of polluting gasses were produced by cooling homes, at only 3 percent.
