The first pie chart gives information about the proportion of uses of energy in six categories. And the second one shows the percentage of household greenhouse gas emissions in six ways in Australia.
It is noticeable that the most energy is used in heating, and cooling accounts for the least proportion of energy. And the greenhouse gas mainly come from water heating and other appliances.
In an average Australian household, 42% of the energy is used in heating, followed by water heating which consumes 30% of the energy. 7%, 4%, and 2% of the total energy is used on refrigeration, cooling and lighting respectively. In addition, other appliances also make up 15% of the total amount of energy.
In terms of greenhouse gas emissions, water heating is the primary source of greenhouse gas, which emits 32% of the total. Nearly 15% of the greenhouse gas is from heating and 14% derives from refrigeration. Besides, lighting and cooling only produce 8% and 3% of the greenhouse gas. Also, 28% of the greenhouse gas is produced by other appliances.
