Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to ask if an item of hand luggage I left one of your flights has been found.
I flew into Sydney last night on flight SQ234 from Singapore landing at 9:25 pm. When I arrived home, I realised that I had not taken my small travel bag out of the overhead locker. It is made of black leather, has one external compartment and there was a luggage tag attached to the handle with my name and address on it.
While the bag itself is not valuable there are several items in it that I cannot afford to lose. Besides the electronics, including a mini iPad and hard drive, there is also my work diary in it, which contains a great deal of crucial information. There were also several personal effects that have great sentimental value.
I would be grateful if you would do two things. Firstly, please acknowledge receipt of this letter and secondly, could you find out whether my bag has been handed in by your cabin staff to your lost property department? Please contact me as soon as possible to let me know whether it has or not.
Looking forward to your prompt response.
Yours faithfully,
Chris Potts
