The diagram shows the stages and equipment used in the cement-making process, and how cement is used to produce concrete for building purposes.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The two diagrams illustrate the way in which cement is made and then used for construction. Overall, limestone and clay go through several steps before bagged but only 15% of cement, accordingly, is used for producing concrete.
In the first diagram, limestone and clay are crushed into a smooth powder. After the power goes through a mixer, it is led through a tube into a rotating heater. The mixture, hence, is heated by a fierce fire. After melting, the mixture is ground into cement and thus being packaged before being transported to building constructions.
In the process of producing concrete, it is indicated that concrete consists of a huge amount of gravel (50%), which are small stones. Other ingredients are sand, cement and water, which is 25%, 15% and 10% respectively. These ingredients are all poured into a rotating machine in which produces concrete mixers for building purposes.
In conclusion, although the process of cement-making undergoes many steps, the way of producing concrete is less complicated. While complex equipment is used to produce cement, concrete-making needs fewer tools.
