Essay topics:

The bar chart gives information about the number of car journeys into the city center made by residents and non-residents.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The bar chart depicts the average number of car rides into metropolis made by the local and the non-local from 1996 to 2005.
Overall, it is clear that the residents’ journeys halved in quantity while the other fluctuated and ended the nearly the same throughout 20 years
Looking at the diagram closely, one can see that the number of trips made by the residents remained stable around 9500 in 4 starting consecutive years till 2000 when the parking meters were installed in the city center, it dropped rapidly to 5000. Unlike the resident, there was a gradually increase in the total of the non-residents starting at around 5000 to over 8000 and then it leveled off after the event in 2000 till 2002. There was almost no change in the number of resident’s car trips in the period 2000 and 2001 until the Westgate street and Park Land closed to traffic in 2002, the number slightly decreased and ended at 4000. The quantity of non-resident’s car rides witnessed a plunge in 2003 and grew slightly to 5000 in 2005.
