The table compares the proportion of bicycle riders in one town with regards to age groups during the year of 2012
In general, the number of female cyclists was marginally greater than that of the opposite gender. As can be seen in the table, the increase of the age was along with a downward trend in the number of bicycle riders and the only exception is in the oldest age group (over 60)
Turning to the figure, the number of people riding a bike in the youngest age group is roughly over half with girls is slightly higher at 52.5 when compares to the figure of boys in the same group (51.2). The biggest difference between two sexes can be recorded in the followed age group ( from 10 to 19 years old) with 43.6% of women and 25.1 of male. Similarly, both genders kept experiencing a decline in the 20 to 39 age group but the data gap has been shortened.
The pattern continued in the middle-age cyclists from 40 to 59-year-old but the gender disparities was less significant with 13.7% females and 9.3% males. Only the most-aged group( above 60) shown a slight different picture when two genders enjoyed an recovery with 19.8% and 14.6% respectively for men and women
