The bar chart compares the money allocated on 5 different types of products by teenagers in one nation during the period of 4 years, which began in 2010.
In overall, it is clear that while food and smartphone experienced an upward trend and books saw a significant decline during the whole period, the other 2 types ‘ figures remained unchanged throughout the years. Moreover, it was food that received the highest amount of budget in both 2010 and 2014.
In 2010, food dominated the first place with more than 3500 million dollars, and this figure continued to grow in the next 4 years, accounting for nearly 4500 millions in 2014. Starting with 2000 million dollars of expenditure, smartphones also saw a significant increase by more than 1000 millions in 2014. In contrast, books, which accounted for 1000 millions in 2010 before experiencing a slight decline, ended up with the lowest position in 2014.
The trend was totally different when it came to the other 2 kinds of products. While the figure for clothing remained unchanged at 2500 million dollars during the whole period, cars also saw the same trend at 2000 millions.
