Essay topics:

The graph and table below give information about water use
worldwide and water consumption in two different countries.

The given line graph and the table detail the statistical report on water usage at the global levels and in two countries(Brazil and the democratic republic of congo) in three sectors including domestic, industrial, and agricultural over a century from 1900 to 2000.

Looking from the overall perspective, it is readily apparent that despite a significant increase in water usage in all the sectors, the agricultural sector continued to lead the chart. Moreover, being the largest in size, Brazil reported the maximum water consumption per person.

According to the given illustration, in 1900, nearly 500 square km of the agricultural land was consuming global water, while only 1 to 2 square km was noticed in the domestic and industrial areas. Over time, whilst domestic and the industrial areas leveled off for consecutive 30 years in a row, the same rose steadily to cover 1000 square km of the agricultural land. With the passing years, besides an upward trend in all the sectors, global water covered a peak of 3000 square km of agricultural land, whereas the same restricted to just a third and one-eight of the industrial and domestic lands in 2000.

Turning to the table, with a maximum of 176 million population, Brazil utilized most of the water to irrigate 26 500 square km of land as against only 5.2 million population and just 100 square km area in congo. Also, Brazil reported nearly 45 times more water consumption per person as compared to only 8 cubic meters in congo in the year 2000.
