Essay topics:

The bar chart below shows the proportions of English men and
women of different ages who were living alone in 2011. The pie chart
compares the numbers of bedrooms in this one-person
households.

The given bar chart details the comparative study of males and females under different age-groups, who stayed alone in England in the year 2011, while the pie-chart provides the proportion of bedrooms in their respective households.

Looking from the overall perspective, it is readily apparent that across all the age-groups, more females than males stayed all alone. Also, the majority of people preferred a two-bedroom house.

According to the given illustration, men in the age-group 16 to 49 ranged between 53% and 63%, who lived without any partner as compared to fewer females(below 47%). Moreover, although the age-group 50 to 64 recorded an equal number for each sex, more than three-fourth of the total were females at the age 65 and above.

Turning to the pie-chart, more than 3 out of 10 households had 2 bedrooms. Further, whilst with very close proportion, one and three bedrooms set accounted for 28% and 29.8% respectively, just 5.3% came out to be as a 4-bedroom set. However, 5 or more bedrooms made up the least proportion of only 1.4%.
