Every one of us has experienced that when we are quite hungry, we cannot think sophisticatedly and art needs some degree of sophistication, so art cannot have any value where people are hungry. Therefore the gravity of the situation makes it advisable to defund the arts to feed the people when there is no other way, as the statement above claims. However, when the situation can be tolerable, we need to empower arts to help the society in several ways.
