You missed an important meeting at work. Write a letter to your manager. In the letter:
· Apologize for not going
· Explain why you were not there
· Say how you will make up for it.
Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter to apologize for the board meeting I missed today morning at 9 am about the current project status update.
I am sorry for not attending the meeting. I was aware of how important it is, but I was absent.
The reason behind this is, today father got a high BP around 7 am. Due to this, I accompany him to the hospital for a medical check-up and other medical tests that are required. Then we visited the doctor and bought the medicines required. Thank god he is doing fine then drop him back at home, now on the way to the office.
I know the importance of the meeting, so I informed Mr. Atwal to attend the meeting on half of me to take notes. I will review with him today once I reach the office. I will check all the action items, responsible PIC along with timelines, and will submit the final report on your table by today's EOD.
I hope you will accept my apologies and forgive my absence.
Yours Sincerely,
Smith
