The diagram below depicts how electricity is generated using geothermal energy. Overall, it is noticeable that the process is divided into 5 steps which starts from pumping cold water into transmitting electricity to National Grid.
The first step involves using Cold Water which is stored in the reservoir above the ground. The Cold Water is then pumped 4.5 km down under the ground. After that, the process continues with the second step where the Cold Water is then injected well into Hot Rocks which is known as Geothermal Zone. Next, after passing the Geothermal Zone, the water then turns into Hot Water and entered the Production Well step which is the third step of this process.
After that, the Hot water is then pumped up back above the ground with the same weight as when it was pumped down, and entered Condenser. Following this step is the fourth step where the Condenser produces Steam which passes through Turbine Cabin. The Steam then powers the Turbine to rotate, which marks the beginning of the fifth step. Next, The Turbine powers the Generator to generates Electricity which is then transferred into National Grid.
