The table shows the export values of various products in 1997 and 2010.
The table illustrates the amount of money received from the export of five different products in two years, 1997 and 2010. Units are measured in HK billion dollars.
Overall, it can be seen that the exports values experienced an upward trend from 1997 to 2010 but the opposite was true for the figures for clothing and manufacturing. It is also noticeable that changes in metals accounted for the largest percentage of those exported products.
In 1997, exporting equipment made up a third of the total export earnings ( 10.3 billion), followed by telecommunity (7.9 billion). In the course of thirteen years, it increased to 11.6 billion while the figure for telecommunity had a more significant rise of 4.8 billion. Metal export values was the lowest, comprised only 2.3 billion but then jumped to 5.1 billion in 2010 and received 122% growth which is the highest among six products.
Regarding clothing and manufacturing, their numbers were quite similar, standing at 6 billion and 5.5 billion in 1997 respectively before dropping to 5 billion and 4 billion in turn at the end of the period.
