The diagram below shows how to recycle organic waste to produce fertiliser (compost). Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The picture illustrates the process of making fertilizer from recycling organic waste. Overall, there are five distinct stages in this production, from the initial container full of air to the eventual compost for gardening.
Firstly, a plastic bottle with a capacity of 2-cubic-meter is prepared and there are four small holes - two at each side - for air to come in. Next, all the waste which was smashed into tiny pieces is put in it, with food at the bottom, grass in the middle and newspaper on top, each layer is 15cm high. The resulting mixture is then treated with nitrogen and hot water.
At the fourth stage of the process, the mouth of the plastic container is wrapped with a cover before being left there for heating for 6 months. During the process, vapour is released through the four vents. After 6 months, the organic wastes are successfully converted into compost, and this sort of fertilizer is ultimately used in gardening.
