On the contrary, the figure for natural gas grew markedly from 13% to 23% by 2003, surpassing that of nuclear power and becoming the second-most consumed resource in that nation after oil energy. The percentage of coal power and other renewable sources rose markedly, by 5% and 3%, respectively.
