The given bar graph illustrates how many adults participated in 7( Gentle walking, Basketball, Cricket, Jogging, Aerobic Gym, Football, Hiking) major sports in a particular area, in 1997 and 2017.
Overall, in 2017,except cricket participation in all other sport events had been increased. An exponential rise was seen in basketball, foot ball and hiking. In both 1997 and 2017, maximum participation was seen in the Gentle walking event. On the other hand, least participation was seen in basketball in 1997 and cricket in 2017.
Firstly, In 1997, Gentle walking had the most participants with fifty thousand people, whereas even after two decades, this event still had the maximum number of participants with approximately fifity four thousand people. Least involved event was basketball with little lower than ten thousand people. All other events had more than 25,000 participants.
In 2017, a massive hike was seen in participation among basketball enthusiatist with more than 24,000 people. Cricket is the only sport while was in a decreasing trend from almost 28,000 people in 1997 to fewer than 5,000 people in 2017.Number of participants for Football and hiking showed a similar rising trend (1997 - more than 32,000 people and 2017 nearly 50,000 people), while people enrolling for Aerobic gym remained static (almost 35,000 people) in both the years.
