The pie-chart illustrates what graduates of Anthropology from an institution did after completing their undergraduate study and the table provides data on the amount earned by working anthropologists after five years in three kinds of employment.
Overall, Anthropology graduates mostly went on to either full or part-time work postgraduation and most of the employed anthropologists earned more than $75,000 after five years in the industry.
While more than half of the graduates were fully employed, approximately 20% were into only part-time jobs or combined with postgraduate studies. Less than a tenth of these graduates furthered into postgraduate studies fully, likewise the proportion of those whose outcomes remained unknown. Surprisingly, 12% of the degree-holder were unemployed.
Anthropologists went on to work in the government, as freelance consultants, or in private companies. Five years in the working sphere, exactly 50% of those employed by the government earned $100,000+ whereas only 40% of freelance consultants and 30% of private anthropologists’ salaries were within this range. Interestingly, a larger proportion of private companies’ anthropologists earned between $50,000 and $74,999, while only 5% of the government workers and freelance anthropologists were paid the least at less than $50,000.
