The chart below shows the percentage of water used for different purposes in six areas of the world. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The provided six pie-charts illustrate the figures collected from the six diverse nations across the world to picture how much water is consumed in various categories such as an industrial estate, agriculture and domestic use.
Looking at the overview of all the given pie-charts, it can be clearly seen that agriculture is the major consumption of water, leaving out North America and Europe, in which it is mainly used for the industrial area.
First of all, let’s take a look at the agricultural sector. Eighty-eight percent of Central Asia demand water mainly for their agriculture, just ahead of Africa with eighty-four percent. This is followed by South America, which takes nearly three quarters of the chart, although their utilization is less than Southeast Asia by 10%.
Regarding industrial usage of water, it is primarily exploited by Europe and North America, with 53% and 48% of each country respectively. In Africa, water is infrequently put to use for manufacturing purposes, making it slightly more common than Central Asia at five percent.
As for North America, Europe and Southeast Asia, the domestic expenditure of water is rare and hardly used, but it is not that much uncommon in the rest of the regions supported in the chart.
