The picture below shows the use of renewable energy accounting the total energy from 1971 to 2011.
The picture illustrates the amount of renewable resource used in 6 different countries making up the total energy between 1971 and 2010.
Roughly speaking, there has been an upward trend in the renewable energy usage, except for Finland remaining stable. Additionally, of the 6 countries, America witnessed the most remarkable growth over the period shown.
As we can see from the picture, standing at 25% in the first year, the proportion of renewable power in Finland fluctuated wildly over the 20-year period. The figure reached the lowest point of 17% in the year 1991, before recovering to 25% in 2011.. Whereas the scales of renewable power in Denmark and France tend to have fairly similar trend, hitting the bottom of 17% and 15% respectively, and then increased remarkably at the end of the period.
Turning to the remaining nations, there was a sharp growth in the percentage of renewable energy in America which stood at only 3% in 1971. Additionally, this figure surpassed its for France and Denmark and reached a peak at 20% while the figures for Germany and Britain experienced a marginal rise to 14% and 6% respectively during the last year.
