The diagrams illustrate the flood situation in a village and two different methods to cure the problem.
In general, it is apparent that the flooding area is the place where the river A intersects the river B. Besides, there are two solutions recommended, including relocating core areas of the village, and building dams.
As can be seen in the picture, the area considerably affected by floods is located in the place where the rivers A and B are interconnected. It is also obvious that floods have an adverse effect on existing buildings, including the industrial park, residential area, and commercial buildings.
The first solution suggested to overcome the challenge is to relocate areas suffering from floods. The industrial park and residential area, in particular, are repositioned northward, while the commercial buildings are moved in the opposite direction. The relocation demands a high cost, but it protects the natural environment.
The second method is that two reservoirs and dams are constructed at the headwaters of the rivers A and B. The method is more affordable, even though the land can be negatively affected.
