The given diagram sheds lights on how extra virgin olive oil and olive oil are made. While the production of olive oil required 6 steps, the procedure for extra virgin olive oil is less sophisticated, with just 5 steps in total. Both of them initiating with harvesting olive oil and culminating in packaging stages.
The production of both types of oil start with the harvest of olive from olive tree. In the subsequent stage, these fruits are ground by a mill machine before being pressed down in the third step so that oil can be separated from the mixture. From then, the oil will either go through only one filtering step so as to produce extra virgin olive oil consuming in the market or being refined in order to make refined olive oil. Following that, the latter is blended with virgin olive oil and being packaged as a milder type of oil, olive oil.
