The graph and table below give information about water use worldwide and water consumption in two
different countries.
The charts show the proportion of water consumed internationally for agriculture, industry and houses, and water usage in Brazil and the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2000.
Overall, global use of water increased clearly from 1900 to 2000. Moreover, we can notice that the greatest amount of water was used in the agricultural field, and that water consumption in Brazil was significantaly higher than in Congo.
In 1900, around 500 km³ of water was used in agriculture. As for the industrial and domestic sector, the figure of water consumption was only about one fifth of the previous number. By 2000, global demand for water for agriculture rose six times reaching 3000 km³. However, industrial and domestic water use increased as well that year to just under 1500 km³ and 500 km³ respectively.
In the year 2000, water consumption in Brazil, whose population was 176 million, was way much higher than in Congo of 5.2 million citizens, and this is due to the fact that Brazil had 265 times more irrigated lands.
- The graph below shows the proportion of the population aged 65 and over between 1940 and 2040 in three different countries summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant You should write at least
