Summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they answer the
specific problems presented in the reading passage.
The lecturer and the author of the passage offer two opposite views on the accuracy of the picture of Rembrandt called Portrait an Elderly Woman in a White Bonnet. The author of the articles elaborates on doubts that mentioned portrait could be work of the Rembrandt; but the lecturer provides strong evidence from research that was conducted to attack each claim made in the reading.
According to the text, first reason why this particular painting could not be performed by Rembrandt is that dressing was inconsistent fur collar was suggesting to wearing only by luxurious people, but the other cloth was not appropriate to that style. Author suggests that painter could not possibly draw it because he was always focused on details. The lecturer explains that scientists studied this work with the current technologies and explained that that piece of portrait the fur collar was drawn only a hundred years ago to change picture for selling for higher precise, probably.
The second passage claims that Rembrandt was the master of light but in this work light and shadow don’t fit, and in his previous works no one could mention this issue, so critics suggest it is not his picture. This contradicts what the lecturer indicates. Scientists was capable to remove that additional piece of fur collar and saw that it was a usual collar of the servant, and the light shadow trouble is disappeared, so it was definitely someone’s trick.
This portrait is absolutely work of the Rembrandt because even the suggestion that it contained from a few pieces of wood which was not fair. The professor addresses that with help of research it was shown that this work was changes by someone adding another piece of wood, when evident says that it was the same wood from which was done another picture.
To sum up, the clear evidence provided from the study support idea that some one tried to change to picture for some purpose.
