The diagram displays the setup of electricity generation through geothermal energy.
Overall, the whole electricity production process has 5 main steps : pumping of cold water into ground, heating it, pumping it into condenser, converting it into steam and finally using this steam to drive turbine for electricity generation. These process are taken place both under and above the ground level.
Firstly, the cold water which is stored in a container is pumped below the Earth's surface in the injection well which is 4.5 Km long. This water is then feed into a geothermal zone where it is heated with the hot rocks and further moving into the production well.
Above the Earth's surface, this stored hot water is pumped up to the condenser where it is converted into steam. The generated steam is then used to turn up the turbine which is connected to a generator. When turbine rotates the generator begins the production of electricity. Finally, the generated electricity is delivered to the power grid thought the power lines.
