The graph provides information about change of standard earnings in different fields of employment in the United States over the period from 1970 to 2010.
There are two basic general trends, downward and upward. Regarding the former, the salary in Professional Sports fluctuated slightly, however, they were still down over those four decades. The earnings reached its peak in 2000, going up by $20,000 and climbing to $145,000. After that, it bottomed, experiencing a dramatic fall and decreasing from the previous number to $110,000.
Oppositely, average earnings in the other spheres climbed. Concerning the salary in the sphere of IT, it surged drastically, rising from only $35,000 to $100,000, going from the lowest volume among the three areas to one of the highest. Furthermore, the payment to workers in Engineering rose slightly during the whole period, increasing from $55,000 to $70,000
Overall, although average salary in Professional Sports stayed the highest, it is clear that people in the other spheres were getting more money with years.
