The bar chart illustrates the average number of years males and females attended school. While the pie chart shows the different levels of education achieved by adults in Singapore between 2000 and 2010.
Overall, there was an increasing number of years in both males and females in the educating system during the period shown. It can also be seen that Singapore females always spent less time at school in comparison to their male counterparts. In addition, the level of education people was accomplishing had increased over the period.
According to the bar chart, in 2000, the number of years females attended school in 2008 which remained unchanged until 2008, and then rose to 8,9 years in 2010. In contrast, male citizens spent an average of 8,9 years in school, which rose considerably to almost 12 years in 2010.
As can be seen from the pie charts in 2000, almost one-third of Singapore’s population finish high school. The figures for those also only left school after receiving primary or secondary qualifications were quite high, at 25, 77%, and 26,3 % respectively. However, there was a significant change in 2010 when 30, 31% and 32, 93% of Singapore adults obtained the highest level as university and master degrees. Other qualifications accounted for a lower percentage at about 19%, 15%, and 2%.
