In the earlier period, majority of New Zealander was spent on travel and clothes compared to other categories. 36% of NZD was spent on travel as the biggest portion while 24% consist in clothes in 2003. This spending habit declined over 10 years. There was dropped by 7% and 8% for travel and clothes, respectively. In 2003, the least popular goods among New Zealand citizens were clothes.
Meanwhile, other two categories showed the opposite trends as those of travel and clothes. In 2003, 21% NZD accumulated on film/music and 19% for books; this reversed by 2013. By 2013, the majority of the New Zealand people’s money derived from film/music category (33%) while 22% for books.
It is apparent that, the preferences of people from New Zealand changed significantly over 10 years. In the earlier period, there was a higher tendency of people spending on travel and clothes, but recently this preference moved toward to film/music and books.
