The percentage of 3 types of crimes: car theft, house burglary & street robbery in England & Wales from 1970 to 2015.
The line graph given compares England & Wales in terms of the proportion of three distinct kinds of crimes: car theft, house break-in and street robbery over a period of 45 years from 1970 to 2015.
It is evident from the graph that throughout the research period, local theives were prone to steal cars. Additionally, an oscillating trend was recorded in all categories.
In 1970, the proportion of car stealing accounted for 0.4% of the total, which outnumbered that of street robbery by four to one, at approximately 0.1%. Meanwhile, the share of house burglary was dwarfed by that of car theft, at roughly 0.1%.
To 1965, these countries witnessed a tremendous increase in the rate of car theft to 1.4% and reached the peak of the chart, at which point it started to slacken to 0.8 % in 2000. At the same time, after having undergone a minimal growth to exactly 0.6%, the percentage of house break-in dropped marginally to 0.4%, accompanied by fluctuations seen in the figure for street robbery to about 0.1%, which made it remain the least common type of crime in these nations.
