The given charts illustrate the usage of water in China, India, New Zealand and Canada in 2000.
Overall, it can be obviously seen that the largest proportion of water usage in the world was spent on agriculture. Furthermore, India and China were the two countries which utilised water for agriculture the most. It is also apparent that water used for domestic was the smallest proportion. Finally, New Zealand was the country which took advantage of water for domestic the most, while in Canada was noticeable for industry.
Turning to the first diagram, agriculture water usage took into account 70% and ranked in the first position of the world water use in 2000. According to the second chart, India used water for that figure the most with a percentage of 92% which was the highest out of the total percentage in this country. It was also the case for China with 62% which placed this country in the second position. Meanwhile, only 8% of water was used for agriculture in Canada which was less than India nearly 12 times.
It can be observed through the second chart that the main purpose of using water in New Zealand in 2000 was for the country’s domestic (46%), and it shows that this country contributes the highest proportion to 8% domestic of world water use. It is remarkable that Canada used 80% of water for industrial development which was higher than nearly 30 times in India with only 3% industrial water use.
