The chart and table below give information about what nursing graduates did after finishing their course in the UK in 2009.

The pie chart illustrates information regarding the fields that nursing graduates work for and the table depicts the percentage of nurses working in the health sector, both in the United Kingdom in 2009.
Overall, the health sector had the largest proportion of nursing graduates whereas a minority of nurses chose to further study and other. In addition, working in a hospital was the most popular decision of nursing employees while mental nurse had the smallest figure.
In terms of the decision of nursing graduates, the proportion of nursing employees who worked in the health sector outweighed other areas with 84%, followed by 8% of nurses chose to continue study and working. The figure for unemployed was 4% which doubled the percentage of further study and other at 2%.
Regarding the fields of health sectors that graduates worked for, a majority of graduate nurses chose to work as hospital nurse, with 72.9%. The data for midwives had slightly higher than community nurse with 12.4% and 10.3% respectively. Other had 2.7% of total nursing graduates which approximately doubled paramedic and sixfold mental nurse, with 1.3% and 0.4% respectively.
